2022-2023 Track & Field

Due to the construction of a new indoor track facility, unfortunately there will not be an indoor OR outdoor track & field season in Aggieland.

REMINDER:  In the past years we have enjoyed allowing officials to arrive unannounced at the last minute, bring along others, and officiate at our meets. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, ALL officials who plan to work at a Texas A&M indoor or outdoor meet must communicate directly with Brian Bancroft (see below) beforehand. Your approval to attend the meet will be based on the availability form OR at least 24 hours prior to the meet (i.e. Friday before 12 noon).

This important change is required to …

  • ensure there is an accurate account for the number of individuals within the facility (officials, coaches, athletes, security, …),
  • allow for the communication of appropriate COVID-19 protocols to all officials before the meet, and
  • allow for the submission of the necessary documentation regarding the facility’s occupancy capacity

For those unfamiliar with our process, once the indoor and outdoor season resumes, to work at an Aggie Track & Field meet…

  1. Please complete the AVAILABILITY FORM (provided by Brian Bancroft)
    • check the meets you believe you are able to attend
    • indicate the specific event area where you would like to work (clerk, horizontals, umpire, …)
    • send the completed availability form back to Brian; who will enter your name and information into the Aggie track & field officials database.
    • Note: Each week, emails with specific details will only be sent to officials who indicated their availability for the meet. 
  2. About 10-14 days prior to a meet, to the officials who have indicated availability, Brian will send a final email request to RSVP and verify/confirm they will still be able to attend the meet. We understand that life happens, personal and/or work schedules change, and periodically you may be unable to attend a meet. It is important to RSVP to this email! This, or a follow-up email, will also provide information on housing (if applicable), attire for the meet, meals, updated schedules, teams,  etc.
  3. Re: assignments*. There has never been an occasion when an official was not able to officiate in the specific event area selected as their first choice. Based on the need, there are times when a request is made for officials to officiate in a different area or in a second event area; in addition to their first choice.
    *with the exception of Referees and Starters (these positions are assigned).
